He is one of the most prestigious choir conductors in Catalonia and Spain. His specialties are the a cappella vocal repertoire and the choral-orchestral literature of all time.
As a composer he is mainly devoted to vocal-instrumental music and he is the composer of a wide catalog of works for choirs for children and youths, for mixed choir to capella and for choir and orchestra. Among his works most performed around the world emphasizes Sanctus-Benedictus (1992) and Salve Regina (2001).
Other most recent works are the Te Deum, for mezzo-soprano, choir and orchestra, Missa Sanctus-Benedictus, for two choirs a cappella, and the oratorio Veni Creator Spiritus, for four soloists, choir and orchestra, that was premiered at the Palau de la Música from Barcelona in 2016.
He has been the main conductor of the Orfeó Català (1998-2016), the Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Música Catalana (2011-2016), the Coro de la Radiotelevisión Española (2007- 2010) and the Lieder Càmera (1990-2006). He has recorded for the labels Columna Música, La Mà de Guido, Ars Harmonica, Anacrusi, TVC Disc y RTVE.
He is currently the principal guest conductor of the Coro de Cámara del Palau de la Música.
He has worked with the Coro Nacional de España, the Orfeón Donostiarra, the Franz Liszt of Budapest Academy Choir, the Coro Juvenil Nacional Simón Bolívar de Venezuela, the Orquesta de Radiotelevisión Española, the Orquestra Barroca Catalana, the Orquesrta Clàssica Nacional d'Andorra, the Academia 1750, the Orquestta Simfònica del Vallès and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Málaga.
In his role as a choir curator he has worked alongside the leading conductors of the international scene: Daniel Barenboim, Daniele Gatti, Simon Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel, Marc Minkowski, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, René Jacobs, Lorin Maazel, Helmuth Rilling and Franz Brüggen, among others.
Since 2005 he has been choir professor at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya. He also regularly gives workshops, seminars and master classes in lot of European and Latin American cities.
